Now your pictures are worth even more than a thousand words....
With the Thinglink app, you can take an image and "tag" it. You may already be familiar with this concept - tagging your friends in photos everybody knows who they are is a popular feature on Facebook. With Thinglink, you're able to upload and tag an image with text and video.
What does this mean for teachers? Well, your students can take a creation, such as this poster showing knowledge learned from researching the Blackfeet Nation, and bring it to life with their own videos and research notes:
Thinglinks are really easy to create, and the students were engaged the entire time. Once a Thinglink project is finished, it is automatically uploaded to a teacher's profile page. From there, it can be shared with a link or embedded into a website or blog, as you can see above. The students are excited to know their work can be shared with the world!
This class also made projects highlighting their New Year's Resolutions. They first made Pic Collage projects with various funny and serious photos of themselves, then uploaded that collage image into Thinglink to tag it. Thinglink is a prime app for "app smashing" - using multiple apps to create something amazing.
